As I mentioned in my previous post, we came up to North Dakota with Brogan again. This is our third time in 6 months but it was much needed. With Brogan being gone twice as much as he is home, we can only go two months without REALLY starting to miss each other. The drive was 11 1/2 hours which was about 1/2 hour short of what it was the last two times because we brought my car up here this time since we sold the Jeep and the new truck only gets 8-10 mpg, so we didn't have to stop as much. We only had to stop twice: once for gas and once for a potty break. We left at 1:30 AM early Easter morning and pulled into the hotel here in Dickinson at 1 PM on the dot. We got on the road and Brogan started out as driver while I caught a few z's. About 4 hours into the trip he said that he didn't feel too good and that his belly was feeling funny. He kept driving until we hit the 7 hour mark and then we switched. It wasn't long into my driving that he suddenly goes "Pull over! Pull over! Pull over!" I pulled over as fast as I possibly could and he opened the door just in time to puke everything he had in his belly up. Poor thing! Brogan hasn't had the flu in at least 3 years he says so whatever brought this on is beyond us. I drive about another hour and the same thing happens! This time, because he didn't have anything in his stomach, he was dry heaving and puking up straight water. I felt so bad...We still had a ways to go too. He was a trooper though and made it all the way to the hotel until he opened the door and puked AGAIN in the parking lot. This time it was straight blood! The poor guy was tearing up his gut because there was no food in it :( Needless to say, Brogan didn't go to work on Monday. He has never taken a sick day from work EVER! I got an overnight allergy attack with sinus drainage, sore throat, and major headache so both of us laid in bed pretty much all day while Saije entertained herself crawling around the room exploring everything. She took two really long naps so Mommy and Daddy could rest, thank goodness! We starting feeling better later in the afternoon and Brogan went to work on Tuesday. Thank goodness Saije didn't get any of it because THAT would have been horrible! Now we are all as good as new and soaking up this North Dakota sunshine! (and wind...grrr!)
Saije is fascinated with mirrors. The entire door to the closet here at the hotel is a giant mirror and she constantly keeps crawling over to it and testing out her acrobatic skills in front of it. She even laughs at herself. TOTALLY HILARIOUS!
Saije has crawling down like a science. She can make her way across the room in about 15 seconds so I really have to keep an eye on her at all times. In fact, yesterday she crawled over to the garbage can and pulled it over so EVERYTHING inside fell all over her!: banana peel, dirty diapers, empty pop cans, plastic bottle, etc...Little stinker! She is really good at entertaining herself and playing good with her toys on the floor. In the last couple days she's started eating whole jars of baby food per sitting instead of a 1/2 jar at a time. Her favorite of all? SQUASH and SWEET POTATOES! She definitely gets that from her Momma!
Well that's it I guess for now. Hopefully by next time I Blog I will have pictures of my friend Lindsay's baby that was born an hour before we pulled into Dickinson. They live here! I have three friends and their husbands that live here actually. I have plans with her to go visit and see this cute new little baby Harper in a few days when her family leaves to go back to Idaho so we'll see!
