Baby Shopping!

I went to Burley for the weekend and ended up spending a good 2-2 1/2 hours shopping with my mom in town for baby stuff! It was soooooo much fun! I'd been trying to hold off and wait till my due date gets closer to start buying too much stuff, but I couldn't resist!

This is my ALL TIME FAVORITE! It's a size 3 months but it was the smallest size they had. By the time Saije fits into it, it will be November-ish, but I figured I could throw a long sleeve onsie underneath and call it good. I love the zebra, of course, and it's brown zebra, which is even cuter on little girls.
She is gonna be my Pretty Little Princess all right!
Found this cute little outfit on clearance for like $9. It's a black/white polka dot skirt with a cute Summery onsie t-shirt :D
I know the chances of Saije wearing a onsie t-shirt, matching pants, AND a matching bib is slim to none, but hey...I thought they were all cute! Ha Ha!
These are so adorable! They all have cute little sayings on the front, with a cute little bow with a matching beanie with a bow! I couldn't just get one, so I got one of each!
Can't forget she's Daddy's Little Girl too!

Pillow Case and Car Seat Canopy!!!

http://just-because-i-am-me.blogspot.com/2010/02/car-seat-canopy-tutorial.html

You gotta check this link out! That is going to be my newest craft project along with making a cute pillow case for my body pillow! I am so excited! I have all the fabric and accessories I need for both projects, it's just a matter of finding time and someone to help me since I'm not the MOST experienced sewer on the face of the planet. I'm headed home to visit my family this weekend so I might just make the pillow case thing happen then...we shall see :D
This is the material, buttons, thread, and velcro I'm using for my car seat canopy! The outside part that will be visible when the canopy is covering the baby is gonna be, of course, the zebra print. The other side will be this super cute pink butterfly flower print that you will be able to see when the canopy is pulled up. On the strips that hold the canopy to the carrier there will be 2 big pink buttons. One on each side. If you looked at the link, you'll be able to visual. I am soooo excited to have this baby girl already it's ridiculous! I will keep you posted on the progress or at least post pics of the finished project!

I'm going to be using the same zebra print that I'm using for the car seat canopy for my body pillow case. By the opening of the pillow case there will be hot pink ribbon running all the way around and then right in the center of the ribbon on one side I will sew three big black & white buttons: black, white, black. Awwww.....how I love zebra print! AND PINK! Pink and zebra go together like peanut butter and jelly! LOL!

IT'S A GIRL!!!

Profile
I think I may just have a gymnast on my hands! In what other sport is flexibility a perk? ha ha. Her toes are hitting her forehead! That CANNOT be comfortable!
Look at her beautiful face! Her mouth kept opening and closing like she was trying to talk to us or something. I loved seeing this view!

Arm and hand snuggled up by her ear. This is funny because I like to sleep with one of my hands and arms up like that by my ear too.

She wasn't shy! "It's a girl" confirmed by both the sonographer and the doctor :D Happiest moment of my life!!!
Her little feetsies!
Her other little arm.
Getting the ultrasound done. I was smiling from ear to ear the entire time!
This was an INCREDIBLE experience! It helped that the sonographer was a doll and she explained everything she was seeing on the screen and walking us through it all in detail. Our baby girl has all of her fingers and all of her toes, heart is beating at a healthy rate of 144 bpm with all four chambers working properly, weighs about 12 ounces, brain has all its parts and looks to be functioning normally, internal organs are in tact, spine is straight and sturdy, etc. I couldn't have asked for any better news. What made it even better, other than to hear it's a GIRL, was to have Joe there. I believe I saw a few tears :) Half way there baby girl! We will see you in a few short months! Mommy and Daddy love you!!!

I almost forgot...a few things I picked up :D

I couldn't resist and couldn't wait to find out the gender before purchasing a couple of the most important things for baby. The Travel System consisting of the car seat carrier and matching stroller. I decided that either boy or girl, my baby colors were going to be sage green and brown so when I found this I had to buy it. A big PLUS that it was on clearance too! My mom helped me put it together. The whole baby thing became an even bigger reality at this point. All this happened about 6 weeks ago. I just forgot to put that in one of my previous posts.

Update...I am 19 Weeks today!

I am all caught up now from start to current. I know I spared you all alot of details, but I had to in order to get the important stuff out there lol! I went in to the doctor last week because I kept going numb on my right side and we thought baby was on a nerve. Fortunately it's just that my blood flow isn't that great and because of my LONG LONG legs, it takes longer than the "average" person's blood to travel to and from my heart to my toes. No biggie. Baby's heartbeat was 140 beats per minute and my belly is growing according to schedule so doctor wasn't a bit worried. BUT I have only gained one pound since my first appointment. Doctor gave me the serious spiel about making sure I eat enough, even if I don't want to. I definitely struggle with that but I promised her I would do better! I go in on Thursday morning, bright and early, for the BIG ultrasound where the sonographer checks everything from brain, internal organs, heart, and GENDER! I am so excited I can't hardly wait! I have wanted to know for so long because I have all kinds of fun and cute baby craft ideas in my head! I'm crossing my fingers for a baby girl but I will be thrilled either way as long as my baby is happy and healthy with 10 little fingers and 10 little toes. Then Joe and I can also decide on a name...which so far we don't agree on any really... figures! Speaking of Joe, this will also be the first appointment he's come to with me. It's the most important one in my opinion though so no complaints. It will be nice to have him there. Seriously...I can't wait! That will be my next post so stay tuned!

12 Week Ultrasound

Went in for the big 12 week "getting out of the woods" appointment. It was INCREDIBLE! As you can see in the picture, baby was waving at us! You can see it's BIG round belly and then it's little head, eye sockets, it's left hand rubbing its eye, and it's right hand waving at us! You can even see all of it's five fingers on the waving hand if you look closely. We listened to the heartbeat and it was a healthy 138 beats per minute. Baby was bouncing all over the place too, it was hilarious to watch. I had a grin as big as Alaska on my face the entire appt. Just reassured me that it's really happening this time and in a few short months I will be holding MY precious baby boy or girl in my arms...the feeling of anxiety that accompanies that is beyond what words can explain. It's not the most ideal situation, but for some reason I needed my little one to come now. I am so grateful!

10 Weeks

I went back to the doctor for another ultrasound 2 wks later just to make sure baby was growing properly and according to schedule. Sure enough! It's hard to wrap my head around how fast those little things grow and develop. Definitely one of God's greatest miracles huh? It was either right before or right after this ultrasound that I broke the news to my parents. I totally expected them to rip my head off and tell me how worthless I was for getting pregnant in the first place, but surprisingly enough my mom just said "Ok! We'll just do what we need to in order to get through this!" Talk about a HUGE sigh of relief when I hung up the phone with her. We've been pretty close since that phone call. At least closer than we had been for the year previous.
10 wks 1 Day

Getting the Positive and First Ultrasound

January 13, 2011-My period was 3 wks late, but I wasn't feeling any different other than INTENSE and CONSTANT food cravings. Joe convinced me to go buy a pregnany test on my lunch break and take it so HE could stop thinking about it. I did just that. EXPECTING to see a big fat negative sign, I peed on the dang thing and sat it next to me while I did up my pants. I wasn't even looking at it, but something caught my eye: TWO...not one....but TWO solid lines instantly showed up on the pregnancy test! "OH MY HECK!" is the only thing I kept saying and thinking to myself. Over and over and over again. I grabbed my keys, ran out to my car, and called Joe to tell him that I took the test and it was positive. I wouldn't say he was exactly excited, but he wasn't mad or upset either. More of in shock, like me really I guess. I had to go back to work, so it was a pretty quick conversation. To make a long story short, I finished the rest of the day and immediately took another pregnany test when I got home. Just as positive. LOL!
The first ultrasound I got was less than a week later at about 8 weeks pregnant. With my previous miscarriages, doctor wanted to make sure there was really a baby in there before we proceeded with getting excited! It completely took my breathe away when I saw my little peanut pop up on the ultrasound screen. I've never seen that before and it made me cry. What an absolute miracle! Then to look closer and see it's little heart beating already I cried even harder! Happiest day of my life by a long shot...!

Time to get started again!

I used to keep a VERY active blog when I was married to Alex to keep everyone updated on all our crazy adventures, but since July 2009 there hasn't been a ton to Blog about so I just stopped. With baby on the way and so many friends and family members asking how I am and requesting baby bump updates, etc...I decided "why not?" So here goes!
