North Dakota AGAIN!

As I mentioned in my previous post, we came up to North Dakota with Brogan again. This is our third time in 6 months but it was much needed. With Brogan being gone twice as much as he is home, we can only go two months without REALLY starting to miss each other. The drive was 11 1/2 hours which was about 1/2 hour short of what it was the last two times because we brought my car up here this time since we sold the Jeep and the new truck only gets 8-10 mpg, so we didn't have to stop as much. We only had to stop twice: once for gas and once for a potty break. We left at 1:30 AM early Easter morning and pulled into the hotel here in Dickinson at 1 PM on the dot. We got on the road and Brogan started out as driver while I caught a few z's. About 4 hours into the trip he said that he didn't feel too good and that his belly was feeling funny. He kept driving until we hit the 7 hour mark and then we switched. It wasn't long into my driving that he suddenly goes "Pull over! Pull over! Pull over!" I pulled over as fast as I possibly could and he opened the door just in time to puke everything he had in his belly up. Poor thing! Brogan hasn't had the flu in at least 3 years he says so whatever brought this on is beyond us. I drive about another hour and the same thing happens! This time, because he didn't have anything in his stomach, he was dry heaving and puking up straight water. I felt so bad...We still had a ways to go too. He was a trooper though and made it all the way to the hotel until he opened the door and puked AGAIN in the parking lot. This time it was straight blood! The poor guy was tearing up his gut because there was no food in it :( Needless to say, Brogan didn't go to work on Monday. He has never taken a sick day from work EVER! I got an overnight allergy attack with sinus drainage, sore throat, and major headache so both of us laid in bed pretty much all day while Saije entertained herself crawling around the room exploring everything. She took two really long naps so Mommy and Daddy could rest, thank goodness! We starting feeling better later in the afternoon and Brogan went to work on Tuesday. Thank goodness Saije didn't get any of it because THAT would have been horrible! Now we are all as good as new and soaking up this North Dakota sunshine! (and wind...grrr!)
Saije is fascinated with mirrors. The entire door to the closet here at the hotel is a giant mirror and she constantly keeps crawling over to it and testing out her acrobatic skills in front of it. She even laughs at herself. TOTALLY HILARIOUS!
Saije has crawling down like a science. She can make her way across the room in about 15 seconds so I really have to keep an eye on her at all times. In fact, yesterday she crawled over to the garbage can and pulled it over so EVERYTHING inside fell all over her!: banana peel, dirty diapers, empty pop cans, plastic bottle, etc...Little stinker! She is really good at entertaining herself and playing good with her toys on the floor. In the last couple days she's started eating whole jars of baby food per sitting instead of a 1/2 jar at a time. Her favorite of all? SQUASH and SWEET POTATOES! She definitely gets that from her Momma!

Well that's it I guess for now. Hopefully by next time I Blog I will have pictures of my friend Lindsay's baby that was born an hour before we pulled into Dickinson. They live here! I have three friends and their husbands that live here actually. I have plans with her to go visit and see this cute new little baby Harper in a few days when her family leaves to go back to Idaho so we'll see!

Brogan's Week Home 4.2-4.7

I love this little boy! He calls me Mama whenever he wants something and I love it!
Saije all decked out in her new Puma outfit to make her Daddy proud! lol
This was on our way to pick up Channing from his Mom's and Saije was so happy and excited to go get him! They are super close and they get along and play so well together!

Easter Egg Hunt With The Cousins!

After the kids opened their Easter baskets at home we headed over to Cory and Alissa's where all the cousins and family were getting together for a Easter BBQ and Easter Eggs Hunt. There are 5 kids altogether with Channing and Saije and they all had a blast! Brogan walked around with Channing and helped him find the eggs.
I found one!!!
Aunt Kaylee (Brogan's 1/2 sister) and Saije just chillin while the other kids finds Easter eggs.
Aunt Kayla (Brogan's other 1/2 sister) hid all the eggs in the front yard and the kids had a blast finding them in all the bushes and trees.

Saije's First Easter & Easter Baskets! 4.7.12

It was so fun to go to Walmart with Brogan and pick out stuff for the kid's Easter baskets, especially since it was Saije's first Easter!
We had to leave at like 1 AM Easter morning to head to North Dakota again with Brogan so we celebrated Easter the day before. It was awesome to see both Saije and Channing dig into their baskets and like everything in them!
Since Saije can't eat candy we got her other things that she'd like: stuffed Easter Bunny, jammies, and toys including her first play cell phone and first set of play car keys! lol The keys, by the way, are constantly in her hand because she won't let them go! I told Brogan he better start car shopping if she keeps going at this rate! :D
For Channing we got him a bunch of candy, a gooey play frog, and two DVD's for him to watch. In the picture he was showing his Daddy one of them DVD's the Easter Bunny brought him!

A Day At The Park

When Brogan was home last week, we took the kids to Storybook Park again on the ONLY day that was halfway decent to do so all week! :(
Channing is so funny to watch play on all the toys because he is so intrigued by it all!
With how much this little girl LOVES to swing, I see a swing set purchase in the near future as soon as we sign on a house!
Channing gets ticked when you try and tell him it's time to go home and he has to get out of the swing. He FLIPS!
Brogan was running around with Channing and all of a sudden he yells at me to come over. I go over and this is what I find. He can climb these bars with 0 effort. It totally took us by surprise because he's never tried to climb anything like this before and yet he can do it like he's done it his whole life!

Workout Goal!

Although I consider myself lucky to look like this 7 months post delivery with ZERO excercise, I still want to do better. Starting today, April 1st and going through Saije's first birthday on August 21st, I am doing ab workouts every single day until I have a 6 pack! That might sound kind of extreme, but I want to be fit! Not neccesarily look like a gym rat, but I want my tummy to be REALLY flat amd toned. Wish me luck!

Cousins reunited! 3.28.12

I hadn't seen my niece and nephew in 6 MONTHS so in talking to my sister-in-law I arranged to go to Filer and spend an entire day with them both while Parker and Heather worked. Caleb was on Spring Break so it worked out perfect! They both have grown up so much since I saw them last! Angie is talking talking talking and it absolutely amazes me because Channing is only 6 weeks younger than her and he isn't nearly as advanced as her as far as language goes. She is also almost fully potty trained and Channing is no where CLOSE! Oh well. I guess different kids learn faster than others. And Caleb...GEEZE...he's so grown up and as funny as ever!
Caleb kept referring to Saije as "his cousin". Even to me. It was hilarious! When I went to feed her shortly after I got there at 8:30 in the morning he wanted to help me do everything: feed her, bathe her, dress her, play with her, etc. He is such a good little boy.

Funniest part of the entire day was this:

Caleb: "My name is Caleb Bryant Lyons!"
Me: "Yes it is! Good job Caleb!"
Caleb: "What's your middle name?"
Me: "I don't have a middle name. I'm just Jayne Lyons."
Caleb: "Yes you do have a middle name! Your first name is Aunt, your middle name is Jayne, and your last name is....Lyons? YOUR LAST NAME IS LYONS TOO! OH MY GOSH! WE HAVE THE SAME LAST NAME!"

It was sooo good to see them and catch up. They only live 45 miles away, but it's so hard to plan visits because of their own busy lives mixed with school for Caleb, daycare for Angie, and Parker and Heather's work schedules. I am NOT letting 6 months go by again without seeing them! Thanks for letting me come Heather!

I Love Our Family!

There is nothing like a brother-sister bathtub picture! I think we all have a picture kind of like this don't we? lol I know I do with my little sister Katelyn and my little brother Garrett. PRICELESS!
The very first night Brogan was home last time Saije was having one of those crabby, low fever, fussy teething nights and all she wanted to do was cuddle. Brogan and her fell asleep like this and it seriously brought tears to my eyes. The love of a Dad towards his daughter is so unique and special. Brogan is absolutely incredible with her. He has been such a blessing in Saije's life and I know that as she gets older and understand more and more of the story behind our circumstances, she will thank Brogan for everything he has done for her and all the times he's been there for her.
Alissa and I messed around with curling my hair with my extensions in and it turned out awesome! I wish I could do this to myself but those dang extensions never look nearly as good when I put them in myself! lol
These are the men in my life. I couldn't have ever imagined having the most handsome, funny, and amazing people to call my Husband and Son! I love you guys!
There is a really awesome children's park here in Burley called Storybook Park. It was built by the community back when I was in High School. I remember going with my family to help. Anyway, it is full of swings, slides, monkey bars, castles, tractors, etc. We took Channing and Saije there on a day it was pretty nice outside and learned quickly that Saije and Channing both LOVE to swing! We put Saije in one of the baby swings with her blanket to keep her from bobbing around and OH MY GOSH! She was laughing so hard it was hilarious! And Channing...oh boy...he screamed and screamed when Brogan took him out of the swing to go home because it started to rain. It was the worst temper tantrum we have ever seen him throw! He was going CRAZY because he didn't want to stop!
Brogan and Channing wore matching white polos and similar blue plaid shorts one day that he was home last time and it was sooooo cute! Channing looks so much like his Daddy!
Such a handsome little guy! He looks studly with his fohawk :D
I took Saije back to Storybook Park to swing again when Brogan had gone back to North Dakota. She still loved it!

Tatoo/Date Night! 3.16.12

On Friday March 16, Brogan and I planned a date night and went to Twin to get tattoos and go hang out with friends! I'd been wanting my 3rd tattoo to be Saije's newborn footprints and I finally got it! I'm not going to lie, this picture makes it look HUGE, but it's really not. I think it's just the angle of the picture or something... it is true to size what her footprints were the day she was born. About the size of a business card actually.
These are her actual footprints from the hospital. Pretty good huh?
Brogan got Channing's name going down his right calf. It looks pretty sweet! He is getting Saije's name on his other calf for the next one!
I love date nights with my fiance'. Each and every time Brogan is home every third week, we try to plan one night out with just the two of us away from kids. It is really important because we don't get to see each other very often. I love this man. He is absolutely perfect for me!

Happy Birthday to me! 3.9.12

Brogan was in North Dakota working on the day of my birthday, but I still had a wonderful day! The night before, on Skype, he had me open a birthday card he left for me so he could see me open it. Inside were gift certificates for two one-hour massages at the spa! He thought it would be funny to get me the same thing I got him for his birthday because I was super jealous when he went in both times! lol Thank you honey! That night Alissa, Ashley, and Alissa's friend Amber took me to El Caporal, a yummy Mexican food restaurant in town, for dinner and drinks. When it's your birthday the waiters/waitresses make you wear a sombrero while they sing to you. THEN you have to take a free birthday shot! OH BOY!
Alissa helped me put in my extensions that day too. I have the best hairdresser/cousin ever! Love you Leash!

I'm going to post a picture of it later when I actually take one, but Brogan also got me a .357 purse gun for my birthday for when I get my concealed weapons permit. It is soooooo tiny but soooo awesome! Brogan gets home tonight so the plan is to go shooting this week with all his different guns and my new one. He has a 9 mm, shotgun, rifle, etc. We're gonna have a blast! I LOVE SHOOTING! He also got me a bottle of imported Italian wine/vodka mix drink that is hot pink and a huge bottle of Rihanna perfume. He knows me so well ;-) He spoiled me rotton FOR SURE! Thank you babe! I love you so much!

Happy St. Patricks Day! 3.17.12

We all got St. Patricks Day shirts and wore them all day long!
"Daddy's Irish Princess" with her Daddy!
First time wearing tights with her little denim skirt. I normally put baby legs on underneath or nothing at all but the white tights looked so cute to complete the ensemble! :D
We put the kids down at Grandma and Grandpa's house and went out with all of Brogan's cousins: Alissa & Cory, Ashley & Brad, and us. We went down to BJ's where they were having $1 shots and $1 green beer. We didn't drink too much, we more or less just sat at a table and joked and laughed and had a rally good time. The bar was doing trivia questions for prizes and things so it was alot of fun. Brogan found this stupid looking hat that someone had left on one of the tables and he ended up wearing it for awhile. He's pretty comical!
This picture was taken at 9 PM and I was already worn out and tired!
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww!

Growing Growing Growing!!!

It's been like 6 weeks since I updated the Blog so I apologize for the picture overload! Saije is growing like a weed as always. As of about 6 days ago she is offically crawling. I CANNOT believe it...My brand new 6 1/2 lb baby girl I used to cuddle in my arms and feed a 4 oz bottle to is now mobile, independent, and eats ALOT more than 4 oz at a time! She is eating baby food really great now. She can eat a half a jar at a time and so far her favorites are applesauce, blueberries and applesause, bananas, squash, and sweet potatoes. We tried apricots this morning and it was a big NO! Ha Ha She's funny. We skipped the rice/oatmeal cereal altogether because she wouldn't have anything to do with it. Straight baby food and a few bottles a day is what she eats and she's a chunk!
Still no teeth yet unfortunately....She will be 7 1/2 months this week and she's been teething since 3 months. Those teeth are being so dang stubborn! Up and down, up and down, up and down...Right when they are about to pop through she gets really crabby and really fussy, gets a low grade fever, doesn't sleep for a night, and then wakes up the next day and everything is perfect. Two weeks will go by before she starts it all over again. I've never seen a baby drool more in my life! I just want those dang teeth to come in already! Grrr!!!
Saije's hair is still sooooo curly! It is getting super long too!
Just chillin....She loves laying on the couch like this and watching TV with Mama.
All smiles all the time!
I love when she falls asleep in the funniest positions. I think in this picture she fell asleep while rubbing her eyes. lol
She is so beautiful. She has the best little features, the softest most perfect skin, big dark eyes, a smile for days, and curls curls curls!
I still can't really decide what color her eyes are. They are a really dark mix of brown and dark green mixed in with specks of blue. I don't know exactly what you would call that. Dark hazel? Hmmm...My eyes are ocean blue and her father's eyes I'm pretty sure were hazel so it's obvious where she got it from.
I've never really dressed her in lots of frills and lace, but Brogan bought her this cute little outfit with a matching ruffle headband and it did look pretty cute on her. Her expression is priceless!
At 7 months old I figured it was time to put Saije in some shoes. When babies can't walk and they go everywhere in a carrier, I thought shoes were pretty pointless. I had about 3 pair but they never got worn. Oh wait...She did wear some in family pictures when she was 3 months old. Anyway, I got her these cute silver Mary Jane style shoes with little bitterflies on the toe. They are really cute.
I found this adorable polka dot dress at Walmart and it looked soooooo cute on Saije.  She got so many compliments!
Uh oh! We have a crazy driver on our hands!
Saije LOVES water and LOVES the hot tub! Alissa was showing her how to kick her legs and splash and let me tell ya: She learned QUICK!
I found this adorable swimming suit at Old Navy and could not pass it up! It looked even cuter when I actually put it on her!
I sold Saije's original stroller and carrier and bought new ones. The stroller that came with the matching travel system was way too bulky and big, plus Saije is at the age where she likes to sit up and see where she's going instead of laying in her carrier. She's only in her seat in the car. She's big enough to sit in shopping carts without the carrier too so BYE BYE car seat and bulky stroller. We got her a new car seat that is black and hot pink with white flowers. It is sooo cute! Oh and don't you love the cute flip flops she has on? MY FAVORITE!
The other day when I was out shopping I found these SICK Puma tennis shoes for Saije! Retail price was $32 but they were on sale for $24. I had a 40% off coupon that expired that day so I ended up only paying $14 for them! They are sooooooo awesome! Her Daddy was proud when I called and told him and sent him a picture of them! Ha ha. She only wears a size 2 right now and these are size 3 but she'll grow into them

Well I guess that pretty much sums up Miss Saije since the last time I blogged so now I'll start blogging about all the other stuff that involves everyone else! I wish we had Channing more so I could take pictures of him and keep up on his progress. :(
